Our Streets seeks an organized and proactive part-time Seasonal Community Events Coordinator to support community event planning and coordination during the peak events season. This role ensures Our Streets maintains a strong presence at community gatherings, strengthens relationships with local stakeholders, and effectively engages residents to advance our mission.

Position Overview
This position is temporary, part-time, and non-exempt with an expected 20 hours a week. Weekend and evening work will be required as part of this position. Reporting to the Community Development and Events Senior Manager, the Seasonal Events Coordinator will manage Our Streets’ participation at external community events, assist with event planning and logistics, and ensure timely follow-up with contacts gathered at events. This is a temporary, seasonal position during Our Streets’ peak engagement season from June to September.

Core Responsibilities
- Community Event & Tabling Coordination:
- Manage Our Streets’ participation in external community events by securing spots, coordinating logistics, and staffing tables.
- Identify and seek out new event & tabling opportunities to increase Our Streets’ visibility and engagement in key communities.
- Event Planning & Execution:
- Assist with planning, coordination, and execution of Our Streets events, including logistics, scheduling, and supply needs.
- Manage event supply inventory, ensuring materials are prepared, organized, and available as needed.
- Staffing & Follow-Up:
- Manage staffing for external events, coordinating with Our Streets team members to ensure event coverage.
- Ensure sign-up sheet data from events is entered into HubSpot CRM promptly, either by inputting data directly or delegating to other staff.
- Staff events, transport event supplies, and assist with event set-up and break-down
This role is ideal for an organized and motivated events professional who enjoys engaging with communities, managing logistics, and ensuring seamless event operations that amplify Our Streets’ mission for equitable transportation solutions.
Skills and Qualifications
Basic Skills
- A demonstrated commitment to and experience in working towards justice and equity, particularly within marginalized communities
- Experience in events, customer service, food service, and/or hospitality
- Skilled in written communication and public speaking
- Proficiency in Google Apps
Preferred Skills
- Experience in community outreach, campaigns, or organizing
- Language proficiency in Spanish, Somali, or Hmong.
- Experience working in and alongside Minneapolis and/or St Paul communities.
- Management experience
Possession of a valid driver’s license is preferred for the person in this role.
The Seasonal Events Coordinator is required to be available to staff events during weekends and evenings. This position involves transporting event supplies, event set-up and break-down, and working at outdoor events. Due to these needs, the position includes the following requirements:
- Ability to transport themselves and supplies to and from events across the Twin Cities metro area. Note that Our Streets has an HOURCAR account and will provide access to a rental car as needed for events.
- Ability to sit or stand outside for up to nine hours at events in all weather conditions.
- Ability to lift up to 40 lbs.
- Must be available all day on July 12 and August 9 for Imagine 6th Avenue North events.
- Must be available to work on weekends and evenings.
