Emily Kaufman is a recent graduate of the Yale School of the Environment master’s program. Her work examines topics including decolonization, cooperative economics, Indigenous stewardship, and systems change, with a particular interest in democratic governance and community-led solutions to environmental challenges. Drawing on experience in nonprofit organizations, grassroots advocacy, and community-engaged research, she explores how social and environmental movements can align their internal practices with their stated values. Emily also holds a dual B.A. in Sociology and Environmental Studies with a minor in Geographic Information Systems from the University of Connecticut. Outside of work, she loves to try new food, spend time outside, and sing.
