Volunteer for Open Streets MPLS™ Lyndale

Open Streets Lyndale is back! Help make it a success by volunteering with us for a few hours or the whole day. We have new and updated volunteer roles. Please make sure to read through the volunteer descriptions.

Want to bike and volunteer? This year we are partnering with local community biking groups to help with street closure and opening up the street to traffic. Coordination will happen through them. If you are interested, please sign up and we will connect you.

Volunteers receive a free T-shirt as well as a complimentary meal. Volunteers will be required to attend a volunteer orientation the week of the event. Details will be emailed after signing up.

Volunteer Roles

As a Set Up Crew member, you’ll help with various set up tasks such as tent/table set up, directing vendors to their spots, and placing materials along the route. This position does not require a bike.

Ambassadors help create a welcoming and engaging space for attendees. Volunteers will answer questions, communicate with Our Streets staff with issues or concerns, count event goers at specific times and help with miscellaneous tasks.

As an Eco Friend, you will help us keep the route clean and welcoming by picking up any trash and recycling that may be present. You’ll also communicate with Our Streets staff about any concerns such as an overflowing bin. We provide trash grabbers, bags, and other supplies.

As a Vendor Helper, you will walk along the route and check in with vendors. You’ll provide vendors a chance to take a quick break for restrooms, offer water, and connect them with staff if there are issues.

Break-down Crew helps event staff and vendors with tasks such as tent and table break-down and clean up. You will also communicate with event goers and vendors about the end of the event, help with trash pick up, and assist with other tasks. This position does not require a bike.

Please make sure to read the volunteer role descriptions before signing up.
