twin cities transportation academy

We are pleased to announce that the Twin Cities Transportation Academy will be returning for a third year next spring.

Our Streets will offer a series of free, in-person classes designed to help community members with an interest in transportation gain a deeper understanding of community history and transportation planning. There will be five academies with each focusing on one of Our Streets’ three campaigns:

  • Bring Back 6th, along 6th Avenue North/Olson Memorial Highway
  • Twin Cities Boulevard, along Interstate 94
  • Save the Brooklyns, along Highway 252 in Brooklyn Park and Brooklyn Center

Over five weeks, participants will learn from guest speakers as well as each other to build their skills and knowledge to advocate for safe and accessible transportation networks that work for everyone. Here’s what Twin Cities Transportation Academy alumni had to say:

“It was great learning about all the advocacy I could participate in, as well as meeting people with the same passions about urbanism/transit as I do.”

“The class gave me great insight into the current state of local transportation research.”

The program is free and open to participants 18+ who live in the greater Twin Cities area. Additionally, participants will receive a $400 stipend.

If this opportunity excites you or you’ve been waiting to join the academy, fill out our interest form.
