Souriyno Chen

Souriyno loves traveling and seeing cities on foot, by bicycle, and by public transit. One of his favorite things is to collect physical transit cards from different states and countries. Traveling by foot, bike, and transit allows him to see a place at a slower pace and really feel the heartbeat of the community. Souriyno is a small business owner of a restaurant in Des Moines, IA, with ambitions to find his place in the Twin Cities community and open a third space where people can hang out, have conversations, and be in the company of tasty Southeast Asian food.

Souriyno moved here with his husband Phil and two dogs, Tofu and Cappuccino, back in June from Des Moines, Iowa. Since moving to Minneapolis, he has enjoyed exploring the Twin Cities’ incredible food scene, taking public transit, and riding his bike. If he’s not mountain biking, cycling around the city, or walking his dogs, he is usually doing house projects, gardening, cooking, or making pottery.
