Sean Lim

Sean is a local community organizer, mutual aid practitioner, and artist who has spent the past decade mobilizing Twin Cities residents for electoral campaign, advocacy groups, and local issues alike — centering youth organizing, education, environmental/climate justice, housing justice, and more.

Sean is a longtime friend of Our Streets, has organized alongside past and current Our Streets staff, and has been a vendor participant in the Open Streets circuit for many years. Sean is a lifelong transit rider and bike commuter. He believes that together, we can realize a future where cities prioritize people over polluters by organizing at the hyper-local block-by-block level.

Professionally, Sean works in government at the Minnesota State Senate, serving as the Committee Legislative Aide to Senator Jen McEwen of Duluth. In Sen. McEwen’s office, Sean helps the Senator advance state level policy at the nexus of organized labor and environmental protections. He holds degrees in Political Science, and Environmental Sciences & Policy.

In his free time, he enjoys being immersed in nature, hiking, exploring new cities by foot, print-making, and kayaking on large bodies of water. You’re likely to find Sean campaigning for your local progressive candidates running for office, or tabling at community events to help raise funds for local mutual aid efforts.
