Katie LeGare

Advocacy Intern

she/her

Katie is interning at Our Streets under the RE-AMP network, where her project is centered on researching the story behind Freiburg’s innovative cycling and transit infrastructure, and how lessons learned could be applied to Minneapolis. Katie is a master’s student in Environmental Governance at Albert-Ludwigs-Universität in Freiburg, Germany and works as a research assistant in the Sustainable Food Economics Lab.

Before Katie moved to Germany, she attended the University of Minnesota, where she studied ecology. Her time in Minneapolis is where she first fell in love with commuting via bike, and she looks forward to returning to the land of lakes and hotdish. When she’s not studying or working, she’s often exploring the Black Forest with her bike, reading, painting, hanging out with friends, or working in a neighboring vineyard/lavender farm.
