A 4 to 3 conversion is a type of road safety treatment. In this treatment, a 4 lane street without a center median, like Lyndale Ave S, is transformed to have two car travel lanes in each direction, with a two-way center turn lane.
Minneapolis has a Complete Streets Policy that states that people walking and biking should be prioritized ahead of people driving in transportation maintenance. Yet the City continues to prioritize cars over more vulnerable road users when it comes to winter maintenance.
Over the past year we’ve joined together with local residents and groups like Safe Streets Save Lives to call for change on Lyndale Ave S. Today we are renewing this call & we urge you to join us.
Hennepin Ave S will be reconstructed from Douglas Ave to Lake St in 2023. Hennepin Ave S is a City-owned street that is home to many Minneapolis residents and beloved businesses.
At Our Streets Minneapolis we are devastated by Minneapolis police killing George Floyd. His death is a tragic loss. Our thoughts are with everyone impacted by George Floyd’s death, especially his friends and family.
